About William Buck's Art

My passion in art is watercolor impressions. I choose bright and brilliant colors  while focusing  on landscapes, seascapes, rustic cabins, derelict boats and cars.  Nautical and Marine scenes are my favorite.  I don’t reproduce what I find in nature but create my personal impressions of the world around us.  Although transparent watercolor is my first choice in media, I also work in charcoal, pastel and pencils

I have not been formally trained in art and have learned much through self study, diligent practice and reading.   I have studied locally  at the Baton Rouge Fine Arts Academy under Mr. Larry Casso for watercolors, charcoal, pencil sketching and pastels.   I also have attended workshops in New Orleans conducted by Ms. Carol Peebles, Blue Easel Club, for pastels and portraits.

I am a member of the Art Guild of Louisiana and an Associate member of the Louisiana Watercolor Society.

My work is in private collections in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, Illinois, Michigan, Maryland, Tennessee, and Saskatchewan, Canada.
